9 Principles of business success

Starting a business or any venture is not meant to be easy. If it was, everyone would do it. Success is something that we have to work for, significance is something that means you are willing to serve at your highest self. But you can expect that the harshest experiences in life will be the ones which teach us the best lessons. These lessons, too, often propel us to success.

Your first step will be the hardest

If you really want something you haven’t achieved yet, you have to do some things you may not have previously done. These things may cause you to get scared. When fear comes knocking, answer with faith. Your first step may prove to be so rewarding that the feeling of joy outweighs the fear. It’s your action that will bring courage.

Good things don’t happen overnight

If you look at a seed, it doesn’t look like what it will become..it takes the right environment and careful nurturing. Don’t be scared to fail, if you’re not willing to learn, no one can help you. If you’re determined to learn-no one can stop you. Success is a journey, not a destination. It’s in the doing that is often more important than the outcome. There are many stories of overnight successes that took years to occur. This only goes to show that the good things in life take time to happen.

Being busy does not equate to productivity..Don’t confuse splashing with swimming

There’s a difference between productivity and being busy. So, ask yourself: are you busy working on a task that can lead to your success, or are you doing something else that not really helping you achieve your goals?

You can’t have majority control

Believe in the promises of God, and believe you are worthy to receive His favor. But also recognize that you cannot control everything. You have to find strength in surrendering what is out of your control and knowing how you can optimize the things that you can control. Your attitude often determines your altitude.

Your success is reflective of who you hang around

It’s painful but it true. If you want to elevate yourself, surround yourself with people who can push you up instead of the opposite direction. Your network will reflect your net worth. Set standards for your life and the people you allow in it. The respect you give others will be a reflection on the respect you have for yourself.

Success starts in your mind

You can’t change the past. You can’t influence the future. But you can control the present. It’s the only thing that really matters if you’re traveling the path to success.

Your self-worth is not bestowed by other people

You can’t be blessed or crowned with self-worth. Your sense of value should come from none other than you. Stop comparing yourself with others because God made you and your purpose uniquely.

You will never win everyone’s support

You must know by now that if you want to achieve something, even your closest friends and family will laugh at you. God didn’t give the dream to them. Free your time and protect yourself from unnecessary stress by hanging out with the people who can help you achieve your dreams.

Perfection is the enemy of progress

You’ll never be perfect, but you can be excellent. You can show up and decide to shine. Don’t stress on the things you haven’t done. Celebrate what you’ve achieved instead.
